Hi, I’m Yas 👋🏽

I love using my storytelling skills, production skills and passion for film and the digital landscape to inspire and entertain audiences. I’ve worked on video production for a wide range of brands including creating in house content, branded content and client side.

At the BBC, I produced and presented a short doc which reached over 340K and was in the top ten films on the site and was shared across BBC News’ social channels. I’ve also worked on a Webby Award-winning film about the oceans and learnt my craft working on a wide range of films.

Prior to video production I worked in social media which involved managing accounts, working with high profile talent like Ralph Fiennes, Andrew Garfield, Little Simz and Sydney Sweeney, creating compelling assets and writing copy for brands using my knowledge of the social landscape and social platforms to target audiences reaching over 2 million people. I’m passionate about inclusivity and while on a management course at the National Theatre a proposal created with peers from across the arts led to the theatre rolling out unconscious bias training to all staff.

I began my career as a full time film programmer in the UK. I used my love of film to introduce audiences of all ages to thought provoking films with a focus on independent / international films through selecting films for screenings in cinemas and film festivals across the country and hosting events to bring the film community together.
